It is the entrance to the Parque das Dunas and, therefore is part of the first unit of ambient (environmental) conservation implanted in Rio Grande do Norte and of one of the major differences of natalense tourism for its wealth and diversity and is part of the biosfera reserve of the Mata Atlântica Brasileira. It is the Bosque dos Namorados (Forest of the Boyfriends), an invitation for the tourist or the natalense who values nature.

In an area, at the base of the dunes, in Morro Branco, the Bosque has its interaction with the population of Natal and it is there where activities of ambient education, leisure, tourism and ecology happen, complemented with areas destinated to scientific research, ambient interpretation and of degraded areas.

The Bosque, managed by the Idema - Institute of the Economic Development and the Meio Ambiente, has a leisure infrastructure, since the recreation to the contemplativo. It possesses a childrens park, tables and benches for picnics, a snack bar, tables for games, tracks for the practice of Cooper, an artificial lake, outdoor auditorium and workshop for arts.

For those that prefer to ;earn about the flora and the fauna there are three trails, the Peroba, Perobinha and Ubáia Doce, that transverse the dune cover until the mirantes (lookout points) situated above the Via Costeira.

The groups of animals that frequent the Bosque and the Park as habitat are opossums, sagüis, foxes, bats, as well as punarés and black rats (mammals), humming birds, rolinhas, juritis, gaviões bolt and pedreses, owls, jacus, aracuás, sabiás-da-praia and the song (birds), tejuaçus, calangos, iguanas or camalelions, lagartixas and the snakes caninana, Popa-ovo, coral snakes, poisonous and not poisonous, green snake, goipeba, corre-campo, cobra-veado, salamanta and two heads (reptiles).

Record this address: final of the Avenue Alexandrino de Alencar, between Tirol and Morro Branco. At that point is the only access gate of access to the Bosque dos Namorados and the immense one Parque das Dunas. It functions from Tuesday till Sunday and on holidays (On Monday it is closed for maintenance) schedule from 0800 to 1800 hours. The Cooper even can be made between 0400 until 0900 and 1500 to 1800 hours. Also a visit to the Viveiro de Mudas is recommended.

The last message that we leave who will be for those that visit the Parque das Dunas can be found writen on signs, along its trails:

Do not take anything except photos,
Leave nothing except footprints,
Do not kill anything except time,
Burn nothing except calories,
Take nothing except homesicknesses.
